Alliance 2020 is a project funded by a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Goals:

1. Alliance 2020 will strenghten and expand the personal, institutional, and telecommunications networks between the three academic partners and work collaboratively with other higher education institutions in order to better meet the needs of South Carolina citizens.

2. Alliance 2020 will involve a diverse array of external stakeholders in planning, designing, and carrying out teaching, research, and outreach activities which integrate theoretical and applied research with formal instruction and hands-on learning.

3. Alliance 2020 will encourage the development of interdisciplinary and inter-institutional teaching, research, and outreach activites in all of its partners and programs, enabling students, workers, and in-service professionals to approach issues holistically and to integrate knowledge more systematically into their daily lives and work.
