A field of cotton ready to be picked Edisto Cattle Research A cotton boll

Once known as the King of the South, cotton has once more emerged as the major crop of the southeastern agricultural region. Edisto Research and Education Center is working to meet the needs of cotton farmers by actively investigating disease control and resistance, pest control, and cultivar performance in various cotton varieties. Our goal is to boost both yields and crop quality.

The following publications are the results of station research, and can serve as aids and guides to better understanding cotton pest management as farmers plan a pest management program. These guides are in PDF format, which requires Adobe Acrobat to read. In order to download the free Acrobat Reader, please go to their website.

  • Edisto REC Guide to Nematode Control in Cotton
  • Edisto REC Guide to Cotton Seedling Disease Control
  • Insect Management in Cotton (#IC-97)
  • Cotton Picker Management and Harvesting Efficiency (#EC-648)
  • Cotton Pest Management Scouting Manual (#EB-126)
  • Cotton Production Manual
