Compensation Plans
Clemson University has adopted a new set of policies and procedures designed to bring more consistency to compensation decisions and actions.

Surcharge to Health Insurance Premiums
Effective January 1, 2010, a surcharge will be added to the health insurance premiums of tobacco users covered by the Employee Insurance Program (EIP). All subscribers must submit certification concerning their tobacco use to the Benefits Office as soon as possible. If no action has been taken by an employee, they will automatically be defaulted as a tobacco user and will pay a monthly surcharge of $25.

Voluntary Furlough and Reduction in Time Programs
Employees may take up to 90 calendar days of leave without pay during fiscal year 2009-2010 as part of a Voluntary Furlough Program. Employees may also participate in a Reduction in Time Program to permanently reduce their time and corresponding pay.
