Pumping Test at the Clemson Well Field

Clemson has an array of wells completed in fractured gneiss that we use to teach methods of conducting and analyzing pumping and slug tests.  The well field serves all levels of geology students; basic methods are taught as labs in Intro Geology class, methods used by practicing hydrogeologists are taught in Hydrogeology class (GEOL 408/608) and at Field Camp (GEOL 475/675) and more advanced methods are taught at Field Camp.  The well field is also used for research purposes.  The well field is adjacent to the Bob Campbell Geology Museum next to campus.
