CT2 Faculty Institute 2014

A substantial component of the CT2 Faculty Development Program is the Summer Institute, providing training for faculty who will be teaching the CT2 seminars and other critical thinking-oriented courses, as well as an ongoing forum for idea sharing and communication among these faculty (the community of CT2 scholars).

The instructional content of the complete Clemson Thinks2 Faculty Institute includes many participant activities and deliverables, such as instruction by recognized experts in the field of critical thinking, the creation of student learning outcomes, outcomes maps, critical thinking discussion questions, writing assignments, tests questions, and assessment rubrics. The Institute is designed for faculty who will be teaching the Clemson Thinks2 Seminars focused on critical thinking.

All faculty may apply to participate in the Clemson Thinks2 Faculty Institute. The application will require the participant to indicate what course(s) they intend to teach and how they will adapt this course to fit the CT2 seminar learning outcomes. Once the applicant is accepted to attend the faculty Institute they will be provided with selected literature on critical thinking and a questionnaire to assess the critical thinking strategies they already use in their course(s).

Thirty-four faculty members from 21 different disciplines participated in the 2014 Faculty Institute.
