SC LIFE COMMUNITY-BASED RESEARCH PROJECTS

We partner with teachers and students in selected schools throughout South Carolina to guide them through unique research projects that focus on their local communities.

Our first partnership, with Florence County School District 3, produced an interactive DVD that documented the year-long research efforts of students in kindergarten through high school. Teachers and their students selected subtopics of the district-wide project for individual and classroom research.  Students conducted recorded interviews with local families and subject experts, explored local landforms and waterways, constructed models, and communicated their research results to their classmates, schools and community.  SC LIFE will assist one group of schools each year to complete their own Community-Based Research Project.
