UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Externship

Students receive credit for AVS 360 fulfilling their experience based activity requirement.  Pre-veterinary students are able to gain hands on experience with large animals in a teaching hospital by observing and assisting Staff Veterinarians, Interns, Residents and Veterinary Students for three hours once a week at the University of Georgia CVM in Athens, GA. Students have the chance to ask real Veterinary students questions about vet school and their experiences. Students gain exposure to medical and surgical procedures in many livestock species.  Animal experience from the externship can be used on applications to Vet school.
