Biosystems Engineering Department

The Department of Biosystems Engineering is an academic unit of professionals who discover, adapt and disseminate knowledge and technologies. The focus is to enhance and sustain human and natural resources by integrating the basic biological and physical science and engineering principles with food, fiber and environmental systems. Our department is made up of three program areas: Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization and Business, and Agricultural Education. The Biosystems Engineering program offers two concentration areas: Applied Biotechnology and Natural Resources and Environment. The Agricultural Education program offers three areas of emphasis: Teaching, Education, and Leadership. Please refer to the categories at left or bottom to get more information about all three degree programs. New Degree Program!! Our Department in conjunction with Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences now offers an Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Degree. It is the only program degree of its type in South Carolina.
