Developing methods for rapid and sensitive pathogen detections and pathogen inactivation; Developing and validating practical strategies to improve microbial safety in composting process control and handling; Biological control of Salmonella and hydrogen sulfide producing bacteria in rendering processing environment; Applying nutraceutical food products to control human pathogen Helicobacter pylori infection in vitro or in vivo; Studying antimicrobial resistance in commensal and pathogenic microbes
