Clemson Packaging Science team places third in PPA student packaging competition

Daniel Hutcherson, graduate student in Packaging Science; Isaac Levin, senior in Packaging Science; Evan Funderburk, senior in Packaging Science; Calvin Hutto, senior in Packaging Science; and Brooks Patrick, senior in Landscape Architecture, have placed third in the Paperboard Packaging Alliance (PPA) Student Design Challenge. Their entry, "illuminate" is packaging for a 4G smart phone, "A Sustainable Connection." PPA is a joint initiative of the American Forest & Paper Association and the Paperboard Packaging Council. "The competion was stiff this year with nearly 50 entries from 10 packaging programs around the country," according to Cathy Norris of PPA. R. Andrew Hurley was advisor to the students.
