Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition to Offer Summer Study Abroad Program in July, 2010
Clemson University Department of Food Science & Human Nutrition invites you to involve your senses as you sample the regional cuisine of Belgium while learning about flavor development, sensory evaluation, and how we perceive flavor. Learn about the cultural history of Belgium and have the opportunity for personal travel through Europe. Participate in course-related activities including tours of Ghent, Bruges, Leuven, Liege, and Brussels, as well as visits to a chocolate factory. Travel with FSHN faculty on course-related trips and have a once in a lifetime learning experience in the wonderful country of Belgium!
Earn 6 credits for FDSC 421/821 (615) Flavor Development and the Art of Eating and IS 210 International Studies. The program is opened to all majors, CU and non-Clemson students, all students pay in-state tuition, and there is no prerequisite. Program dates for the program are June 30 – July 30, 2010. The program costs totals approximately $4200 (slightly higher for graduate students) and include tuition (6-credits $3200), housing, programs excursions, tasting passports, and more. Program application and a non-refundable deposit of $250 is due by January 15, 2010.
