Garden Club of America--2012 Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture (Deadline: 2/1/12)

Summary:
The Garden Club of America (GCA) is offering the 2012 Katharine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture for college juniors, seniors, or graduate students in horticulture or a related field.  The $3,000 scholarship was created to encourage the study of horticulture and related fields.

Qualifications:
1)
Open to college juniors, seniors, or graduate students in horticulture or a related field, with preference given to students from Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Application packet must consist of the following:
 
 1) Completed Application Form (to download an application form [pdf], click here);

2) A short essay (On a separate sheet of paper, state your career goals and why they are important to you.  Also include how your proposed course of study will support you in your endeavor.  The Committee views this essay as a critical component of your application.);

3) Two letters of recommendation (One from your advisor or professor of the department of your major; the other from a current and/or former employer);

4) Official college transcript;

5) Personal interviews with selected applicants will be held in Cleveland.  Notice will be sent.
