Event: Town Hall Meeting for CAFLS
Date: Tuesday, November 8th
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Place: Newman Hall Auditorium
Attention CAFLS Students:
As our College of Agriculture Forestry, and Life Sciences (CAFLS) moves forward with reorganization and defining its mission for the future, your input as a Clemson University student is essential.
As many of you are aware and have observed firsthand, several of our traditional majors have been eliminated or merged into combined programs and departments. Just ten years ago, there were 16 different departments in our College. Today there are only four departments along with one School, which is a combination of former departments. Concerns such as reduced faculty and resources that have had an impact on our collegiate experience will be brought to the Dean’s attention.
Fortunately our Dean, Tom Scott has agreed to hold a Town Hall Meeting to address our concerns and provide our input. This venue is YOUR opportunity to voice YOUR concerns and have YOUR questions answered. Please demonstrate both your interest and support for the future of CAFLS by making plans to attend this very important Town Hall style meeting on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. President Barker was invited and regrettably will not be attending due to prior commitments but will send remarks for the Dean to share. Our Provost, Dori Helms, will be in attendance.
