The Summer Program for Research Interns (SPRI) is a program coordinated by the SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics (GSSM) for rising high school seniors in public and private schools in South Carolina. The goal of SPRI is to motivate bright, academically talented students to pursue careers in science, mathematics, or technology.
During the summer of 2015, Clemson University will host approximately 35 resident and 5 commuting student research interns in this program from June 7-July 17. The student research interns work with Clemson faculty in their campus laboratories for six weeks, approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Counselors will be hired (tentatively two male, two female). Each counselor will be housed in a dorm on the same floor as the SPRI students (day counselors may opt out of housing). Counselors will be responsible for the safety of the students in their charge and remain with the students after 5 PM each day, seven days a week and all day on weekends.
Current or former Clemson University Resident Assistants are encouraged to apply.
