CAFLS Graduate Research Symposium
The CAFLS Graduate Research Symposium is an annual event bringing together graduate students, faculty, and stakeholders across all disciplines in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences.
The CAFLS Graduate Research Symposium aims to support graduate students in:
- Developing thoughtful presentations by clearly and effectively exchanging information and ideas
- Building professional development skills in science communication by participating in the “3-Minute Thesis (3MT)” competition or a Poster presentation
- Receiving and applying constructive feedback
- Establishing rewarding relationships with students, faculty, and staff

Adegbola "Gbola" Adesogan
"Feed the Future - Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems"
Dr. Adesogan is the Associate Vice President and Director, Global Food Systems Institute, IFAS, University of Florida and the E.T. and V.C. York Professor of International Agriculture. From 2015 to 2023, he was the Principal Investigator and Director of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Livestock Systems at the University of Florida, which managed over 60 research for development projects that use animal-source foods to improve nutrition, health and incomes in nine African and Asian countries. His research areas include using animal-source foods to improve human nutrition, health, incomes and livelihoods and evaluating strategies to sustainably improve animal performance and health. He earned his BS, MS and PhD degrees from Universities of Ibadan, Nigeria and Reading, UK, respectively. He has received over $70 million in grant funding, published over 160 journal papers and book chapters, mentored over 50 graduate students and visiting professors, given over 100 invited international seminars, and received several awards.
Celebrating 100 Years!
CAFLS Faculty and Staff are invited to participate in a poster competition to help celebrate a century of graduate education at Clemson University! The deadline to register for the faculty/staff poster competition is July 31st.
