Soil testing: extracting soil samples

Clemson's Agricultural Service Laboratory analyzes soil to give fertilizer recommendations.

Don't guess, soil test!

In 1938, Clemson established the first soil-testing program in the South. The lab tested 1,983 soil samples in it's first year.

Today, Clemson's Agricultural Service Laboratory provides a variety of analytical agricultural testing, including soil, plant tissue, feed and forage, irrigation water, animal waste, nematode, plant identification, and plant problem diagnosis.
