In honor of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, let's take a closer look at the humble peanut.

  • In 2012, peanuts alone pumped more than $100 million into South Carolina's economy (According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service.)
  • 25 of South Carolina's 46 counties grow peanuts commercially.
  • It takes about 540 peanuts to make a 12 ounce jar of peanut butter.
