Pam’s responsibilities are to give overall leadership to the South Carolina 4-H Program. Her areas of specialty include program development, curriculum development, leadership development, and volunteer development. She also serves as the State 4-H Military Liaison. She loves to see the development of youth through the 4-H program as they “learn by doing.”

Katie serves as Laurens County 4-H and Youth Development Agent. She is responsible for providing research-based educational programs to youth throughout the county as well managing all of the county-based 4-H clubs, projects, and volunteers. In addition to these duties she also serves as the South Carolina 4-H Horse Program Assistant to all state related 4-H Horse programs, activities and event.

Shannon Herndon is a Senior County Extension Agent and her responsibility is 4-H Youth Development. Her county programs include Agriculture, Natural Resources, Science, Engineering and Technology, Food and Nutrition, Leadership and Community Development. She maintains two county websites for information on local 4-H projects and events for 4-H Volunteers and Youth.  Her area of responsibility includes Bamberg and Barnwell Counties.

Mr. Hucks' responsibilities are 4-H and youth development in Lancaster County. He also serves on the 4-H Natural Resources Committee, Staff Senate, and coordinates the Midlands region Pullet Chain. Dr. Lippert works with some of the best Agents in South Carolina to focus on including the rapidly growing Hispanic youth community in the 4-H program.  This is done through providing financial support, helping initiate new clubs and participating with the meetings and activities of all the clubs.  If the Hispanic youth were not targeted specifically, they would likely not be involved in 4-H.  These youth have many talents and skills that the 4-H program helps them to develop.  One of the main goals of the clubs is involving the members in community service.  Other minorities are also included in these clubs as well as non-minorities.

Mrs. Long coordinates the 4-H and FFA state livestock projects and contests. She also manages educational events, programs, curriculum, and agent/ag teacher trainings. She currently has teaching and departmental responsibilities in the Agricultural Education program of the School of Agricultural, Forest, and Environmental Sciences (S.A.F.E.S.) at Clemson University. She enjoys working with all livestock species and believes that the future of animal agriculture is dependent on today’s youth having positive educational experiences with livestock, so when they become adults they will be educated consumers or livestock producers.

Abbeville County has economic foundations in forestry and agriculture, and you will find many 4-H programs based around animal science, livestock and natural resources. Katie Rishebarger is the coordinator for Clemson Extension's new 4-H Science on the Move program. The program provides educational resources for schools and community groups across South Carolina. Katie coordinates the Upstate half of the program. Apart from science and working with children, Katie also enjoys photography, singing, acting, and costuming.

Jessica serves as the 4-H Agent in Anderson County. She also coordinates all of the Animal projects for Anderson, Oconee and Pickens Counties. Anderson County has a long history of Agriculture and many 4-H youth participating in livestock projects. While Anderson County still has a very traditional 4-H program with many animal projects and clubs, the county has diversified to offer many other projects including STEM and Healthy Lifestyles. Jessica’s main love in her career is working with youth and their animals. In her free time away from work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and working on her family farm, raising registered Shorthorn Cattle.

Dr. Vernon is an Assistant Professor in the Animal and Veterinary Sciences Department at Clemson University. Patricia has a strong background in wildlife and environmental programming. She is excited to work with schools in utilizing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
