4-H Forestry Judging develops an appreciation for the importance of conserving forestland as a source of products, benefits, and services necessary for quality living. 4-H foresters learn citizenship and leadership skills as well as practical forest management skills through participation in the 4-H Forestry Invitational. By learning these skills, young people will be better prepared to own forestland or deal with environmental issues in the future.

Youth ages 14-18 interested in learning forestry can attend this weekend training. The clinic will be held at SCDNR Webb Wildlife Center in Garnett, SC. After a weekend of intense training, four youth and an alternate will be selected to represent South Carolina at the National 4-H Forestry Invitational in July in West Virginia. Cost for the clinic is $100. Limit 20 participants. Once selected for the team, members will practice throughout the year to prepare for the National Contest.

Late registrations must include $15 late fee.

Since 1980, teams of 4-H foresters from across the nation have come to Jackson's Mill State 4-H Conference Center at Weston, WV, the first and oldest 4-H camp in the United States, to meet, compete, and have fun.
