The Healthy Lifestyles club will meet the 3rd Monday of each month from 3:45 pm until 5:30 pm at the York Extension Office. This club is centered around healthy lifestyles through food and nutrition. Activities include cooking, baking, kitchen techniques, culinary tips and tricks, and field trips. While learning about healthy choices and portion sizes utilizing MyPlate, this club prepares for the yearly Healthy Lifestyles competition at the SC State Fair in October. Public speaking and presentation abilities of 4-H'ers are enhanced through this club.
The 4-H Helping Hands Club will typically meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. This club is centered around civic engagement throughout the county. This club will meet at the Extension Office, however the location varies according to the activities. Parents are welcome to stay during the meetings. Parents will need to stay for transportation if needed during some of the meetings.
This club is for youth ages 10 to 18 that would like to explore the history of the upstate and visit historical sites. The club will typically meet on the 1st Wednesdays of each month from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. The club meeting dates and location may change as the group explores and learns about the history of this area. Parents will need to stay for transportation if needed during some of the meetings.
4-H Historical Club Documentary
This club will meet at the home of the club leader in Rock Hill, SC on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month from 10:00am-12:00pm. 4-H’ers will use household materials to engineer robotic designs. The creative activities in Junk Drawer Robotics encourage 4-H’ers to use the processes and approaches of science; the planning and conceptual design of engineering; and the application of technology.
This club is for youth ages 9 to 14 who will meet on the 4th Friday of each month at 3:00pm at the Fort Mill Library from September to May. This is a hands-on club designed to capture 4-H’ers curiosity, and build an interest in science and engineering through teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills. This club participates in competitions, which aids them in learning to appreciate science and technology through the use of Lego robotics.
This club will meet the 3rd Friday of every month from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. at the Fort Mill Library. Designed to help youth explore the world of photography by encouraging self-expression and learning about proper use of camera equipment to capturing great images and developing processes.
