Scheduled Classes

There are currently no Produce Safety Alliance Grower Trainings scheduled. If you are interested in having one scheduled soon, please contact Adair Hoover at cpope@clemson.edu or 864-656-9986.

First Day

The first day will consist of all of the teaching, with snacks and lunch provided. Attendees will learn about each of the following topics:

  • Introduction to Produce Safety
  • Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
  • Soil Amendments
  • Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
  • Agricultural Water (Part I: Production Water; Part II: Postharvest Water)
  • Postharvest Handling and Sanitation
  • How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan

In addition to these seven modules, important information about the Food Safety Modernization Act Produce Safety Rule will be covered.

Second Day

The second day will be reserved for those that wish to work on their Farm Food Safety Plan. This day is optional, but will be a great resource for those that need help with producing their plan and will be a time to ask questions and have discussions with instructors.
