Critical PSA Research Infrastructure and Dam Improvements

Nonrecurring Request $8,240,000

Clemson University PSA’s facilities include six Research and Education Centers and supporting properties throughout the state. The Centers are focused on research and Extension to support the agriculture and natural resources industries in South Carolina as well as serving as points of information for all of the state’s citizens. The facilities include office and laboratory space for resident and visiting faculty, support buildings, roads, retention ponds and agriculture infrastructure, such as wells and irrigation systems.

This year, Clemson PSA is seeking one-time funding to address specific maintenance and renovation needs at these facilities to maintain the quality and efficacy of our research and Extension programs.

This request also includes funding to bring dams on Clemson University property into compliance with current South Carolina DHEC standards that will ensure the integrity of the dams and water-control structures.

Of the requested funds, $2 million will be used for structural and infrastructural maintenance and repair at the Centers, and $6.24 million will be used to repair and upgrade ponds on Clemson University properties.
