Instructions to Read before Training Begins
IMPORTANT! READ THIS ALOUD BEFORE YOU BEGIN THE TRAINING!
Begin your training by reading the following statements to all trainees:
-
"There are three classes of pesticide applicator licenses issued
through the Department of Pesticide Regulation in the state of South
Carolina. These are: Private Applicator Licenses, Commercial Applicator
Licenses and Noncommercial Applicator Licenses."
-
"Private Pesticide Applicator Training is for persons who wish to
obtain a Private Applicator License. These applicators will use
Restricted Use Pesticides (RUPs) in the production of an agricultural commodity (products from farms, nurseries, greenhouses and forests) on land that they, or their employers own, rent or lease."
-
"Persons who apply RUPs as part of their employment with a
governmental agency, such as grounds maintenance for a college or
university or a city or county recreation department, will need a
Noncommercial Applicator License not a Private Applicator License."
-
d) "This approved Extension Pesticide Applicator Training Program
must be completed by anyone wishing to receive a Private Applicator
License. You must also pass a written Private Applicator Certification
Exam in order to be able to apply for a Private Applicator License. No Commercial or Noncommercial exams will be given following this training program!"
-
"Private Pesticide Applicator Training is open to anyone wanting or
needing a pesticide applicator safety training class. Any participant
taking Private Pesticide Applicator Training may request a certificate
stating that you attended the class, but you will not receive a Private
Applicator License unless you take and pass the Private Pesticide
Applicator Certification Exam. The certificate is not a license, nor
will it allow you to obtain a license."
-
"Some of you may wish to participate in Private Pesticide
Applicator Training as a study course before taking the
Commercial/Noncommercial Applicator Certification Exam. Note:
Commercial and Noncommercial applicators must pass a Core Exam, and any
appropriate Category exams, and meet all other certification
requirements in order to apply for a Commercial/Noncommercial
Applicator License. Again, no Commercial or Noncommercial exams will be given following this training program!"
