On May 18, 2016, The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued its Final Rule on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which goes into effect Dec. 1, 2016.

Training for supervisors and employees affected by the new FLSA standard is required. Affected supervisors and employees were notified by an email sent by the Office of Human Resources.
For guidance on which training to attend, please refer to a recent email communication from Office of the Human Resources. The email to supervisors was entitled, "Supervisor Procedural Changes Resulting from the New FLSA Standards". The email to employees was entitled, "Your New Employee Status per the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)."
Upon completion of FLSA training, an electronic acknowledgement of training attendance and understanding is required of all participants. A link to complete the training acknowledgement is provided at the conclusion of each training session.
