Since 1959, the South Carolina Pest Control Operators' School has been sponsored by Clemson University's Department of Entomology, Soils, & Plant Sciences and the South Carolina Pest Control Association. For over 40 years, the school has provided pest control owners, technicians and related professionals the most current information on university research, application technology, regulatory issues and business practices. The school is usually held in early February for two and a half days.
Programs specifically for managers/owners, termite technicians and general pest control technicians are conducted. Presentations and hands-on workshops are given by invited pest control experts. Many speakers are nationally and internationally recognized for their research and achievements in the pest control industry. One of the most important and exciting aspects of this annual event is the opportunity for professionals to informally meet in a large exhibit area with colleagues and industry representatives to exchange ideas, information and see the latest pest control products and resources.
