Day 102 | April 12, 2014

York County 4-H'er assisting with chicken vaccinations.

For the birds

Annette Reynolds joined Clemson Extension as a 4-H agent on July 1, 1970 and one of her first tasks was vaccinating chickens...1,000 of them. During her first week on the job she learned a few things, that she was afraid of live chickens, that she didn't know how to catch them, and that once she managed to catch one, she didn't know what to do with it.

Read Annette's Extension story to see how she put the 4-H motto, to learn by doing, into practice.
