4-H is one of the oldest and largest youth development programs in our nation whose success is largely due to public and private partnerships. The support of the government, corporations, foundations, and individuals allows 4-H to reach over 90,000 young people each year in South Carolina. In order to coordinate state 4-H programs and activities, private support is needed. While state appropriations pay for agent salaries in many counties, state dollars do not provide funding for most county, regional, and state programs or events in which 4-H’ers benefit.
Contributions can be designated to support a specific purpose that is important to you, or left unrestricted to be used where the need is greatest. Contributions can also be designated to your local county 4-H program. As a Clemson University organization, all gifts to 4-H are received by the Clemson University Foundation. The Foundation is organized to promote the welfare and future development of Clemson University, to receive gifts, and to prudently manage the disbursements of these assets.
If you would like to make a gift to South Carolina 4-H, click the “Make a gift to 4-H now!” link to make a secure gift online. If you wish to send a gift through the mail, checks should be made out to the Clemson University Foundation and designated to the 4-H Annual Fund. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
The South Carolina 4-H Annual Fund provides support where the needs are the greatest. These funds support scholarships and national trips and programs such as State 4-H Congress and the State Presentations Contest.
