FEDERAL EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PROGRAM

Life Insurance Plans:

Federal employees are eligible to participate in the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) Program. The cost of Basic Life is based on your basic insurance amount (your annual salary rounded up to next $1,000) plus $2,000. If you have elected Basic Life, you can elect Option A - Standard, in the amount of $10,000 and/or Option B - Additional, in an amount up to five (5) times your annual basic pay and/or Option C - Family, to cover 'eligible family members': $5,000 for your spouse and $2,500 for each eligible dependent child. Premiums are deducted every pay day and are determined by coverage amount and age. There are extra coverage benefits for employees under age 45 without additional cost. For additional information, please contact Personnel, Payroll, and Benefits, 107 Barre Hall, Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina, or phone (864) 656-5809.
