Tour Description & Contact Information
The objective of the study-tour is to learn more about the production and marketing system of a major competitor in feed grains, oilseeds, and beef cattle. This trip will provide an international learning experience through a ten-day study-tour of Argentine production agriculture, agribusiness, government agencies, commodity markets, and other supporting institutions.
We are considering two alternative dates to visit Argentina:
- The first alternative is to visit in December after planting has been completed and before Christmas. The tour will leave the U.S. on December 7 arriving in Argentina on December 8. This tour will leave Argentina on December 17 and will arrive in the U.S. on December 18.
- The second alternative is to visit in January after Christmas. The tour will leave the U.S. on January 16 arriving in Argentina on January 17. This tour will leave Argentina on January 26 and will arrive in the U.S. on January 27.
All flights are over-night and will arrive in Buenos Aires in the morning. We will choose the date for the visit based on the consensus of those interested in the tour.
The study-tour will allow producers to interview Argentine experts to learn more about the country’s economy and agricultural sector. Visits to U.S. agribusiness operating in Argentina will help producers understand why these companies are investing in South America.
A preliminary itinerary is included on this website. The study-tour will visit agribusiness located in Buenos Aires and Rosario cities. We will visit grain and livestock farms in the provinces near Buenos Aires and Rosario. We will visit feedlots and grass-fed beef operations. All domestic transportation will be in a private 24 passenger minibus with private certified chauffeurs.
