Clemson Extension employs Extension Agents who work closely with state extension specialists and researchers located on campus and at the various research and education centers located across the state.  Your local Extension Agents provide expertise in Agronomic Crops, Economic & Community Development, Food Safety & Nutrition, 4-H, Horticulture, Livestock & Forages, and Natural Resources.  Clemson Extension Service offers its programs to people of all ages, regardless of race, color, gender, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital or family status and is an equal opportunity employer.

Saturday, March 6, 10am - 1pm @ Beaufort County Extension Conference Room - Poultry Pastured Workshop (Free Range) Presenter: Dr. Mickey Hall, Associate Professor, Clemson University - Light refreshments will be served.  $10.00 fee - Space is limited. Mondays, March 8, 15, & 22 6-8pm @ Beaufort County Extension Conference Room - Organic Vegetable Production. Session I-Soil Biology/Understanding the soil food web; insects, microbial activities of fungus, bacteria, nematodes, worms, etc. ($10) Session II - Soil Amendments-Understanding how to use organic fertilizers & minerals to help supply nutrients that may be in short supply during your soil building process ($10)Sessions I & II will be presented by Mr. Jim Smith, Organic Producer/Consultant. Session III - Pest Managements -Developing strategies to manage insects, weeds, & disease in a diverse system (free).

March 10, 8:30am - 4pm and March 11, 8:30-noon - CORE & Category 3 (Turf & Landscape) Study course @ Beaufort County Extension Conference Room.  Attention commercial lawn & landscape professionals!  SC State regulations state all persons making pesticide applications must have a valdi commercial applicator's license or be under the direct supervision of a person so licensed.  All who are not in compliance with this regulation are in violation of state law.  Fees are: $100 if you do not have a CORE or Cat 3 manual or $60.00 if you do not need manuals.  This course is to prepare particiapnts for the CORE and Category 3 Commercial Pesticide License Exam.  Space is limited.  Please call 843-470-3655 ext 114 to pre-register.
