Consumer Horticulture in Greenville/Spartanburg

Picture of heirloom tomato.Lawn and Garden activities are among the most popular pastimes in the United States; and the Upstate of South Carolina is an excellent gardening region.  Our mild climate allows year-round gardening and a great diversity of garden plants, but we are not without challenges.  Whether you struggle with difficult soil, an unhealthy lawn, or just want to grow a productive vegetable garden, Clemson Extension's Consumer Horticulture Program can help.  We offer a wide variety of services including soil sampling, free horticultural phone advice, gardening factsheets, beginner lawn and garden classes, and gardening seminars. We are your one-stop source for all things horticulture in the Upstate.

Clemson Extension-trained Master Gardeners are a key component of our educational activities and we have active groups in the Greenville/Spartanburg area.  Master Gardeners volunteer their expertise for your benefit by working in the Extension Office answering phone calls and manning Ask a Master Gardener booths at farmer's markets, local nurseries and garden centers.  They also offer a variety of educational events all around the Upstate.  Look for them the next time you are out, they would love to answer your horticultural questions.
