Forestry & Natural Resources
Clemson Extension agents with primary Natural Resources responsibilities work closely with state extension specialists and researchers located on campus and at the various research and education centers located across the state. They provide expertise in topics ranging from forest management, forest health, forest products and forest taxation to impacts of development on water quality and watershed management.
Recent Meeting
On Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 we had a joint forest landowners' association meeting where landowners from Oconee, Pickens, Anderson, and Greenville Counties were invited to attend. Over 50 people showed up at Just More Barbecue of Pendleton to listen to guest speaker Dr. Linda Wang from the US Forest Service based in Washington D.C. She presented a workshop on helping landowners understand reporting requirments for tax filing in the area forestry. There were a lot of questions and great discussions. Most stated that they learned a lot of information that can save them significant money when filing taxes for forestry operations. Oconee Forest Landowners Association meets 2-3 times per year.
