Union County Master Gardeners will be meeting on 15 April 2013 at 6 PM at the Clemson Extension meeting room. A powerpoint presentation on the English Cottage Garden will be presented by Linda Cobb, garden editor for the Spartanburg newspaper.

4-H Gardening Club will start meeting Monday March 11, 2013. Time is 3:30-4:30 and we will meet at the Clemson Extension Office. There is a $15 registration, but you will get a soil sample and other items throughout the meetings. We have 6 meetings planned. This is a great opportunity for youth to learn about forestry and possibly compete at the national 4-H Competition.

This year’s South Carolina 4-H Forestry clinic will be held April 12-14th at Camp Long in Aiken. During the clinic, youth will gain hands-on experience from Clemson Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Professionals. The clinic will focus on tree identification, tree measurement, compass and pacing, and other forestry skill areas. Also, youth will have the opportunity to participate in lumberjack games.
