This club will meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at the Clemson Extension office in York at 6:30 p.m. The clubs participates in Hippology, Horse Bowl, Horse Judging, Regional and State Horse Shows.
This club will meet on the 1st Thursday of each month at the Clemson Extension office in York at 6:30 p.m. The club participates in the following activities: monthly arena sessions where club members work on natural horsemanship and topics of interest, local and state educational contests that include Hippology, Horse Bowl, Presentation Contests, Horse Judging, and Creative Contests, and members also compete at the York County Fall Livestock Show and the State 4-H Horse Show. The club also holds camping trips, field trips, and trail rides. Members also participate in local community service projects. The club focuses on being an all-around horse club where all disciplines of riding and interests are welcome. The club also focuses on learning general horse knowledge and new topics in the equine industry. This club welcomes children of all ages and horse ownership is not required.
This club will meet the 1st Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m. in different club member's homes. The club will participate in the following activities: County and State 4-H shows, service projects, Fall Livestock Show and eventually Hippology classes. This club strives to be a giving horse family that that teaches proper horse etiquette. They acknowledge not every member is able to win every ribbon. 4-H'ers will learn how to handle their horse during the 4-H year through show classes as well as trails manners, and horse language.
This club will meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at 1:00pm-3:00pm in Blacksburg. The Horseless Horse project is designed for 4-H’ers that do not currently own or lease a horse. Youth will learn about the different breeds of horses and ponies, markings, grooming, healthy and safety, how to handle a horse as well as proper riding techniques. This is a great club to join before considering the purchase or lease of a horse. Come join and learn from York County’s S.C.A.R.E. (South Carolina Awareness & Rescue Equines) Horseman.
