Plant Description:
The name of Canna 'Bengal Tiger' was selected because of this plant's characteristic variegated foliage (striped yellow and green). Leaf blades are large, oval shaped, and green with yellow variegation around the veins. Plants can grow to be over 60 inches tall. Rhizomes measure approximately 1.5 inches in diameter.
Flower petals are red orange in color with crinkled petals.
Bengal Tiger Canna is a popular ornamental that has been evaluated extensively for use in constructed wetlands. Like other cannas, it has the ability to remove large amounts of nutrient contamination from water.
