Plant Description:
Jointed spikesedge is perennial that produces thin rhizomes with long internodes. Culms (stems) can be soft or firm and are hollow. Leaves possess papery leaf sheaths and highly pointed tips.

Fruiting occurs from late spring to late fall. Plants grow in ponds, lakes, marshes, and streams.
