Plant Description:
Stargrass is an herbaceous perennial that is solitary and can grow up to 28 inches in height. It produces slender rhizomes and slender culms with leaves at the bases. Leaf blades are linear in shape with a tapered tip. Inflorescences are white, dense, headlike structures made up of small spikelets.
Fruiting occurs from spring to summer. Plants live in sand, peat, and/or silt along shores, and marsh edges.
