Striped Earwig
Earwigs are voracious predators that feed on many insects and plant debris. Growing to about one inch in length, earwigs are active at night and often hide during the day. The scary-looking pincers on the tail-end are used to confuse enemies as to which end is the head or tail.
Control: Although earwigs sometimes feed on plants, the injury they cause is usually minor compared to the good they do reducing harmful pest populations. Controls are not necessary.
