Algal Leaf Spot
This parasitic algae infects many broadleaf evergreen plants with thick, waxy leaves such as camellia. Look for greenish-brown, velvety spots that occur on the leaves and stems of infected plants. Weakened plants are attacked more easily by this disease.
Control: Improve plant vigor. Avoid wetting the leaves. Prune out infected leaves and twigs. Copper sulfate sprays can be used on some plants, but are usually unnecessary.
