Black Spot of Rose

This fungal disease is very common on roses. Leaf spots appear as dark, roughly circular lesions with yellow haloes. Eventually, the entire leaf may turn yellow and drop. Severe infections greatly reduce the quality and number of flowers produced.

Control: Plant tolerant cultivars. Remove infected leaves and clean up fallen leaves. Avoid wetting foliage. Fungicides are available.
