Iris Leaf Spot

iris leaf spotThis fungal disease infects the leaves and flower stalks of iris. The disease appears during hot, humid weather. The leaf spots begin as small, oblong, tan spots with reddish borders and often are surrounded by a water-soaked area that turns yellow. Spots rapidly enlarge, frequently killing the entire leaf.

Control: Prune out and discard diseased foliage. Clean up leaf litter in the fall. Fungicides are available.
