Euonymus Scale

This insect can be a severe problem on evergreen varieties of euonymus. Leaves turn yellow and may drop off. Upon close inspection, you may find a multitude of scale insects on leaves and stems. The insects look like flattened, brown or white, scaly bumps. Severe infestations may kill the plant.

Control: Heavily infested plants may have to be pruned to the ground or replaced with a less pest-prone shrub. Dormant oil sprays and insecticides are available.
