Cucurbit Anthracnose

Cucurbit AnthracnoseCucumbers, watermelons, and muskmelons can be infected with this fungal disease. The disease may infect leaves, stems, or fruit. Leaf spots begin as yellow, water-soaked areas which later turn brown and shatter, leaving ragged holes in the leaves. On the fruit, sunken spots develop with dark borders. Stem lesions often cause the leaves to die.

Control: It is important to clean up plant debris because this fungus overwinters in old, infected plants. Avoid wetting the leaves and fruit. Fungicides are available.
