Stink Bug

StinkbugThis insect is a pest of many vegetable and fruit crops. Adults and nymphs suck plant juices from buds, blossoms, fruit, and seeds. Feeding often causes shriveling or distortion such as catfacing in fruit. These insects overwinter as adults. Barrel-shaped eggs are laid in clusters in June. Expect two to four generations per year.

Control: Encourage predators. Plant early to avoid the first generation. Insecticides are available.
