The South Carolina Jr. Beef Round-Up is usually held the first weekend of August each year at Clemson University's T. Ed Garrison Livestock Arena near Clemson, SC. Clemson University's Cooperative Extension Service organizes and coordinates this weekend of beef cattle activities for 4-H/FFA members and their families. In addition to the great camaraderie, there are many opportunities for junior cattlemen to win college scholarships, savings bonds, livestock supplies and show equipment. Some of the events include Sales Talk Contest, Jr. Cattlemen's Contest, Showmanship Contest, Breed Shows, and SC Beef Ambassador Contest.
This event would not be so successful without many people and communities dedicated to supporting the weekend activities. We are always looking for new supporters and there are many ways families, businesses, and communities can help continue this cherished event!
Financial donations of any amount, small or large, are appreciated and will go into our general fund to help pay for shavings, arena rental, judge’s fees, or other awards.
Financial donations may also be designated to sponsor a particular event. Just to name a few examples, $300 would sponsor one of the breed shows, a Showmanship Buckle can be sponsored for $200, the Sales Talk Contest can be sponsored, in total, for $300, or a scholarship or cash award can be sponsored for any amount at least $500.
Product donations can be used as silent auction, Cattlemen’s Contest, or other contest prizes. We will accept donations of all types. In the past we've received items such as gift certificates, show halters, brushes, buckets, swag items, arts and crafts, tools, livestock supplies, first aid kits, the list goes on and on! Items do not have to be livestock related, we welcome creative items.
VOLUNTEER! Round-Up requires so many people to run, we are always searching for volunteers to help coordinate specific events or even just an extra pair of hands that weekend. If you have some free time or want to give back just let us know and we can sure use your help!
Please contact us if you would like to contribute or know someone who might be willing to contribute. Thank you!
