Tri-County Master Gardener Program

Is your thumb green?  Do you have a thirst for knowledge? Can you commit to putting your knowledge and skills to work through volunteer service?  If you answered yes, then the South Carolina Master Gardener program may be for you!

The next Tri-County Master Gardener Training Course will begin October 8, 2009 and will be held at the new North Charleston City Hall.  Tri-county residents can apply now through July 10th for this upcoming training. Selected participants will receive an in-depth education in botany, plant physiology, plant pathology, entomology, soil science, landscape design and plant identification. Each student who is accepted and participates in the 40 hour class will be expected to volunteer the same number of hours to their county Extension Service solving plant and landscape problems through telephone and email inquiries.

The mission of the Master Gardener program is to train volunteers who can facilitate the educational work of the local Consumer Horticulture Extension agent by delivering research-based information to citizens of their counties.

Download and print the application from this website and return it by July 10th  for consideration in this year’s training class!  Thanks for your interest in the Master Gardener program.
