School is in session! The Carolina Yard Gardening School will now be offered three times per year and is designed to help home gardeners “Do It Yourself” to create a low maintenance, beautiful landscape that works with nature and protects natural resources.
The Carolina Yards program is based on 12 key principles that address common landscape concerns including soil and mulch, plant selection, garden design, water in the landscape and gardening for wildlife. Apply the lessons learned and certify your yard as an official “Carolina Yard.”
The first Carolina Yards Gardening series will cover:
Principle 1: Maintaining Healthy Soil
Principle 2: Recycling Yard Waste
Principle 3: Mulch Matters
Deadline for General Registration is March 1 and the cost $55
Deadline for Late Registration is March 13 and the cost is $70
The mission of the Clemson Extension Master Gardener Program is to select, train and utilize knowledgeable volunteers to facilitate the educational work of the local Urban Horticulture Agent by delivering research-based information to the citizens of the state. These knowledgeable volunteers work diligently to staff "Ask A Master Gardener" offices in each of the three county and are ready to help you with your gardening and horticulture questions!
