ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Pine straw production can provide a critical income source for landowners, and businesses alike. However, this practice is not commonly considered when looking for alternative incomes from land. Pine straw production has generated interest from landowners and businesses that manage loblolly, longleaf or slash pine. This course will provide necessary information to effectively manage and harvest pine straw.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop will benefit foresters, landowners, land managers, pine straw contractors, and others that have an interest in pursuing this enterprise on lands managed for pines.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
David Dickens, Phd, is an associate professor of forest productivity with the University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. David develops, coordinates, and implements educational materials and programs for County Extension agents, private non-industrial forest landowners, and natural resource professionals.
