Shortleaf Pine
Pinus Echinata
betula_nigra

Shortleaf pine has needles in clusters of two, rarely three or four. The abundant cones are among the smallest of those of our southern pines — 1½ to 2½ inches long. The cones are generally clustered and often remain on the twigs for 3 or 4 years.
