South Carolina peanut production accounts for approximately 105,000 tons of peanuts, with a crop value of $52 million. Clemson University's Department of Applied Economics and Statistics publishes annual budgets to assist producers in selecting enterprise combinations for the season and management marketing memos to provide timely information on the entire range of farm management, marketing and agricultural policy issues.
In addition, the production guide contains definitions intended to assist growers in understanding the economic significance of peanut grading terminology. A simplified description of the grading process is used which does not include all aspects of USDA approved peanut grading procedures.
