  • Ways to Give

There are two primary ways to give to the National Scholars Program:

    The NSP Scholarship Fund
The primary goal of the NSP Scholarship Fund is to competitively recruit and attract the top high school students in the United States. We are able to do this each year by offering full scholarships, including tuition, fees, room and board, and a stipend for books and supplies. Without an appealing and competitive financial package offer, these highly recruited scholars would likely choose another school. If you are interested in making a contribution to the NSP Scholarship Fund, please contact Paul Brammer.

    The NSP Excellence Fund
The NSP Excellence Fund was created in 2009 to support the program’s areas of greatest need in order to address our goal of establishing the National Scholars Program at Clemson University as one of the best in the country. The Excellence Fund allows program leadership to have flexibility in allocation, supporting distinguished guest lecturers and student travel, and providing unique learning enrichment opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Each year, Scholars, parents, and alumni participate in our Natty Giving Cup competition, vying to be the group with the greatest level of contribution to the NSP Excellence Fund. To date, the Excellence Fund has raised more than 375,000 dollars in support of this exceptional programming for Clemson’s most ambitious students. But we need to sustain this funding in order to stay competitive with other elite scholars programs. To find out more about the Natty Giving Cup competition, including how you can participate, please see below.

Visit "I support CU" to learn how you can support the National Scholars Program. You'll be asked to log in with (or create) your CU Alumni giving information (Note that you do not have to be a CU alumnus to create an account.) This dedicated NSP giving page includes information on the Giving Competition, as well as how to make your donation online using a credit card.

Starting in 2009 and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the National Scholars Program, the NSP launched a giving competition among alumni and current Scholars, and began to include cohort parents in the competition in 2011. The "Natty Giving Cup" is awarded annually to the alumni and current Scholar cohorts and parent cohorts that have the highest percentage of members giving to the NSP foundation account. Building the NSP foundation account with private donations will ensure that current and future Scholars will enjoy the unique, life-changing learning opportunities that past Scholars have. Since September 1, 2008, current Scholars, alumni and parents of both have donated more than $475,000 to the NSP Excellence Account!
